About me

My name is Unn Katrine Løtvedt Kriens, but been called just Unni for more than 40 years. I’m a more or less self-taught Norwegian artist interested in art since childhood, and painting has become a huge passion of mine.
Started out with water colors and oils, but since my style and techniques have become more abstract and I like to experiment with mixed media, acrylics works best for me now.

I have traveled intensively in my previous career in the airline industry, and been living in Asia, Europe and the Middle East, but have now settled down with my husband in Mijas near Malaga in Spain. We are happy to be closer to our kids living in London.
My artwork is often influenced by observations from my immediate surroundings and ranges in terms of style, from traditional over abstract to contemporary. And; with my alternative “crazy” frames, you can maybe call my works “Pop-Art”.
My art journey so far has been solo and joint exhibitions in Muscat Oman, Singapore and Abu Dhabi, and all commissioned work, has found their new homes all around the globe.

“As an artist I am fascinated by the energy which colors and shapes can create and how this energy affects our daily life.
I strongly believe that immersing ourselves in art and music, whether as a creator or viewer, allows us to let go of the day to day stresses in our lives. Art can help us relax and recharge our emotional batteries; something which we all need from time to time”.

I really like Pablo Picasso’s words:
“Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life”.
